Finland were off to a good start in the second period too and quickly extended their lead to 3-0. A couple of minutes later, Poland got the opportunity to play power play which they conducted well and scored their first goal. Finland too would get the opportunity to play with the advantage of one extra player, but Poland managed to avert Finland’s attempts and the result remained 3-1 at the end of the second period.

In the third period, Finland proved themselves to be the better team. After two goals by Ulla Valtola they finally won the game with 5-1. By this means Finland ends up in second place in group A, thereby qualifying for the semi-finals that takes place during Saturday.
